Worship

Weekly worship services at St. Matthew’s are offered on Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Communion
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the second and last Sundays of each month. In his Word, God makes it clear that this sacrament is to be shared by people of a common proclamation of faith. Guests, please speak with one of the pastors about our practices for the Lord’s Supper. Thank you for respecting the way we celebrate this sacrament.

"Building on the Past" Sermon Text:  Ephesians2:19 –20 Pastor Daniel Schmidt As we gather to celebrate today, we do so giving all thanks to the Lord of the Church that we are buidling on solid ground.  I am not talking about the firmness of the field on which our new chilcare center and school are built.  I am referring to the foundation that the Apostle Paul is led to write about in Ephesians, chapter 2. It is found on page 3 of your worship folder.  From God’s Word we read: Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Today, on this “Dedication Sunday”, offering all praise and thanks to our Lord God, we raise our voices together to give thanks that we are building on solid ground.  And based on God’s Word before us, we are reminded that we are building on the blessings of the past.So, let’s go back. Let’s go way back in the past to the very beginning.  Our first parents, Adam and Eve, were given paradise as their home.  But, giving in to the temptations of the devil, believing his lies, they sinned against God.  Rather than carrying out the punishment that Adam and Eve so rightly deserved for ...
