The school day for children in Kindergarten through Grade 6 begins at 7:40 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. (bus children are excused at 2:35). The school day for Grades 7-8 begins at 7:35 a.m. and ends at 2:45. The 3K and 4K children meet in the mornings from 8:00-11:00.
All students are expected to leave immediately after school, unless they are under the direct supervision of a teacher, in an extra-curricular program, or moving to First Steps for extended care.
In case of inclement weather, our school will follow the closing announcements of the Oconomowoc Area School District. The district will decide to close schools if there is a wind chill warning of negative 35 degrees Fahrenheit or if there is a snow or ice event bad enough to affect transportation.
All local television stations carry information about closings. Announcements will not name St. Matthew’s Lutheran School specifically, but if you see that the Oconomowoc School District is closed, we are closed, too. You can also expect a message to be sent out from St. Matthew’s after we learn that the district has closed school for the day.
