Beth Ziel, Kindergarten

I have been blessed to serve as the kindergarten teacher here at St. Matthew’s for the past eleven years. I also have had experience teaching grades 4K-6 during the 27 years of my teaching career.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Martin Luther College (then DMLC) in 1985. I enjoy attending regular meetings of the Waukesha County Reading Council during the school year to stay up-to-date on new reading practices.

My husband (Eric Ziel) and I were married in 1986 and have three children. Megan teaches middle school English in South Dakota, and Jake is on the staff of Nebraska Lutheran High School. Our youngest, Anna, will be a teacher when she receives her teaching degree in 2019. I look forward to becoming a grandma this summer too!

Being a teacher is a great privilege! I especially enjoy watching kindergartners grow over the course of these nine months in so many social and academic areas. Most importantly, I feel honored to play a role in their faith life as they learn more about their Savior’s love for them!
