Tim Torgerson

Tim, Torgerson, Sixth Grade Teacher

I look forward to teaching 6th grade, 7-8 grade social studies,  and coaching at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School. I hope to be able to use some of my previous experience in teaching to guide the students both spiritually and physically as they develop their God-given talents to serve Him.

I am a 1983 graduate from Martin Luther College (DMLC back then) and have taught for 38 years in our Lutheran Schools. I enjoy teaching and coaching various sports. I am married to Sandy and have 2 step-daughters, two sons, and five grandchildren.  My wife recently retired from her longtime job at Jefferson County Human Services Department. I enjoy coaching most sports, particularly basketball, soccer, and softball or track in our grade schools. I enjoy hitting the golf course myself, following Wisconsin sports teams, and doing some casual bike riding.  We reside in Watertown on the west side by Heritage Homes. Our older son, Micah, is currently on a mission trip with an organization called World Race, where he is out of the country doing activities and mission work. Our younger son, Griffin, will be a 4th-year student at UW- Oshkosh, where he is studying criminal justice.  Step-daughter Heather and her husband, Nate, live in Jefferson with their three children, Lora, and twins Wyatt and Nolan.  Melissa teaches school in Philadelphia and resides there with her two children, Ava and Pierce.

I look forward to serving St. Matthew’s Lutheran School and Church and meeting many of you in the upcoming months.

Favorite Bible Passage – Romans 5:19 (Confirmation verse): “For through the disobedience of one man the many became sinners, so also through the obedience of one man the many will become righteous.”
